Since 9/11 2001, Islam and the nature of Islamic ideology have been a ‘hot-button’ issue here in the West. As a firm believer in the sovereignty of God, I am convinced that this is no accident. God has a ‘one track’ mind, so to speak, and this issue plays right into that.
While there has been, and will continue to be, endless hours of debate concerning the political and social ramifications of Islamic ideology, this issue is much more personal to me. Some of my first memories as a child and my first thoughts about God were directly shaped by Islamic ideology. I’m convinced that the Lord loves to speak through contrasts, however. Although Islamic ideology had some devastating affects on me as a small child, the Lord has since used the contrast of Islam to reveal His heart and Eternal Purpose to me.
About a year ago, I wrote an article about this very thing titled ‘Why Islam Is Superior To Christendom’. (Don’t let the title scare you) I would strongly encourage you to take a few minutes to read (or re-visit) this article and think about how this ‘hot button’ issue actually sheds light on God’s eternal purpose in our day and age.
