Do you watch movies? If the answer to that question is yes, then you may want to consider making a submission to this project. Let me explain…
One of my favorite things that we do in the church community that I am a part of is watch movies together. Often, a group of us will gather in someone’s home on a Friday or Saturday evening to watch a movie and look for a sighting of Christ in the film. When a person has a sighting of Christ during the movie, they will usually pause the film and the person will describe how they see Christ being expressed in a specific scene. This practice can completely change the way you view movies. It is quite enriching. I have discovered that the Lord is always speaking, and He loves to reveal His Son in ways that we may not expect.
Personally speaking, I have been blessed by those of you who read this blog & offer insights and comments regarding articles posted here. Your contribution to the dialogue and expression of Christ is vital. As a result, I’d like to ask you to consider making a submission to this new blog project that I believe will be a blessing to many. In this project, I’d like to ask you to share how Christ has been revealed to your heart through a specific scene in a film.
If you are interested in making a submission, please do not post a comment to this blog post. Instead, I’d like to ask you to send your submission to my personal email address: jamal@illuminate-us.com with the following information:
1. Your name
2. The title of the film
3. One paragraph (4-5 sentences) describing and setting up the context (background info) of the scene you are about to share.
4. A second paragraph (4-5 sentences) describing the scene itself, and how you specifically see Christ (or His bride) being revealed through the scene. (If possible, include a link to a video clip of the scene if you can find one)
5. (optional bonus paragraph)- If you would like, you can also describe how seeing Christ expressed in this scene has deepened your love for Christ in a new way. Describe what affect this has had on you or your relationships. This will be completely optional, however.
The duration of this project will be ongoing. You can make your submission anytime. If I post your submission, it will be posted as a stand alone blog post specifically devoted to your submission. If possible, I will attempt to post one submission each week throughout the year. Please know that I may not be able to post each submission. If I post your submission, however, you will receive a special prize:)
