Due to the fact that there have been several new additions to the illuminate blog roll over the last few months, I decided to make yesterday’s post a one day only trivia / survey contest. The purpose of this contest was to ‘excavate’ some of the older posts that our newer readers may not have yet read, but also to help us get to know one another a bit more. I look forward to doing more of these kinds of contests in the future.
Yesterday’s trivia / survey was not an easy one at all. Out of the eighty-six articles published on this blog since its inception, I asked our readers to identify the five most read posts. That was not an easy task. In order to win this contest, the winner had to correctly identify the top-five posts in correct order. (I think that might have discouraged more of you from participating) I also asked participants to share their favorite genre of food along with their favorite local restaurants as well.
Without further delay, here is the correct list of the five most read articles on the illuminate blog to date:
1. Missional Confusion & The Amway Gospel…an assessment of a movement
2. The Universal Enslavement Of Women
3. Is ‘Radical’ really radical? (why David Platt is the new Francis Chan)- my book review here
4. Church Member Mentioned In David Platt’s Book ‘Radical’ Responds To My Review Of ‘Radical’
5. Have You ‘Really’ Heard The Gospel? – A Special Interview with Frank Viola
In my opinion, there is a profound reason why these top five posts are the most read. That will be the subject of another article in the future, however. Let’s get back to the survey at hand.
We did have three brave souls that decided to throw their hat in the ring yesterday. Unfortunately, there were no winners. They made some great guesses and got quite close, however. That’s not bad considering they had eighty-six articles to sift through! Here is who participated, and what we found out about them:
1. Hannah- Orlando, FL area-
Hannah likes Mediterranean and Spanish food and likes to frequent a couple of places called Bosphorus Turkish Cuisine & Mi Tomatina Paella and Tapas Bar.
2. Ari-Amber- Seattle, WA area
Here is what Ari-Amber had to say about her favorite food and restaurants:
“My husband and I live 30 minutes south of Seattle, WA. We love Mexican food. Ranchito is a restaurant just up the road from us that has amazing mondo margaritas and really great food. But my favorite place is called Taqueria El Rinconsito. It started out as a little hole in the wall place (which is when I best liked going there) and the food is AWESOME! Carnitas y horchata! Yum!”
3. Lindsy- Jackson, MS area
Lindsy says that there isn’t a lot to choose from (regarding places to eat) in her area with the exception of a Chinese restaurant nearby. We need to pray that the Lord would send some good restaurants to Lindsy’s area:)
Thank you Hannah, Ari-Amber, & Lindsy for participating in the trivia contest, and for sharing a bit more about yourselves with the rest of us. It is truly great to have you as readers!

It was a tough question for sure. Time did not allow me to look things over before the deadline. Were the number of replies to the posts any indication of the popularity?
Frank,
No worries brother, it really was quite a lot to sift through. As far as the top five articles are concerned, the number of replies and comments did not factor in. The results are based on the number of people who read the article. The data shows that out of the eighty-six articles posted, those five posts that I listed have been read by the most people.
Oh well. it was worth a shot.
I really appreciate this blog. Thanks for sharing Christ with us brother.
by the by bro. I am a him not a her. Totally understandable. Not alot of us man-lindsies around. least ways i’ve met very few.
So sorry about that:) I remember you mentioned that before and I completely forgot.
To be honest, trying to identify the top-five posts in correct order did discourage me from participating. But that didn’t stop me from reading the comments of the ones who tried.
No worries Catherine, there will be future contests that you will be able to get in on:)
