Happy July to you. As I mentioned in my last post, I’ve been traveling the last couple of weeks. As a result, I’ve taken a small vacation from the blogging world. As I also mentioned in my last post, I have been looking forward to sharing some things with you when I returned from traveling. During the last couple of weeks, I have had the privilege of visiting a community of saints in the Redlands, California area. This is a beautiful group of people that I have grown to love and cherish. During my time there, Jared Gustafson (a dear brother from the community there) asked me to join him on one of his podcasts for a conversation. It’s actually the only podcast that I’ve ever done.
During the conversation, I sensed the Lord open my heart to share some of the things that I have been longing to share with you once I returned from my trip. In the conversation, I share a bit about my journey out of the traditional religious system, and also about some paradigm shifts regarding the nature of the church and God’s eternal purpose that have been more recent in nature. In the conversation, I also share the key to having lots of children as well as an awakening that I’ve had about the true nature of the cross. The message of the cross is often misunderstood and can actually be quite abusive if not understood in the correct light. I was happy to share my heart about that in this podcast.
Please understand, I am not a professional. I don’t speak for a living. I’m not polished. Nevertheless, I do believe the Lord orchestrated the podcast conversation that Jared and I had that day. I would like to share this conversation with you. It’s about forty-five minutes in length. Let me encourage you to listen to the whole podcast with the understanding that more and more gets unpacked as the conversation goes on. The end is fuller than the beginning. Because it’s a conversation and not a lecture, it’s helpful to listen to the whole conversation without skipping around. I’ve included the audio for you to listen to here below,
