If I'm being honest, although I am an author, I am not someone who typically likes to read books. I almost never seek out books, and would rather do many other things in my down time than read. With that said, some books have a way of finding me. When they do, they usually find me because of frequency.
A book recently came into my awareness called 'Returning To Eden' by Heather Hamilton. As soon as I began to interact with the book, I realized that the frequency of this book is refreshing, and one that I deeply resonate with in many ways.
If you identify as a Christian, especially as an evangelical Christian, let me gently encourage you to consider listening to this episode of The Love Cast with Jamal podcast as I interview Heather Hamilton about her new book Returning To Eden. Let me also encourage you to get a copy of her book Returning To Eden.
No, not because you will agree with everything in this podcast interview, (or her book), but because it may cause you to consider a perspective that your current sources of information have not been able to present you with. Growth is important for us all, and it takes conscious effort to remain open-minded and to not fall into a closed echo chamber. This is a typical challenge in belief systems of all kinds.
On the other hand, if you have been deeply damaged by the Christian religion and find anything resembling your previous faith to be distaseful or triggering, let me also gently encourage you to listen to this episode of The Love Cast with Jamal podcast, and also to consider reading Returning to Eden. You may find it to be restoritive in ways you may not have thought possible.
