Ep. 185: The Energy Body, Dis-ease, And Why Plants & Psychedelics May Not Be A Healthy Path Toward Enlightenment... A Conversation with Aly Sousa...

Did you know that your physical body is a replica of your energy body?

Did you know that your energy body is where all ease and dis-ease originates?

Did you know that plant based psychedelics are typically more popular in the Western world, but are often discouraged as a spiritual path by many yogis in the Eastern world? Do you know why this is?

In this episode of The Love Cast with Jamal podcast, Aly Sousa joins the conversation with Jamal to explore these topics further.

Ep. 184: The Sacred Practice of Medicine & Giving Birth with Dr, Nathan Riley MD, OB-GYN

In this episode, I had the absolute privilege of sitting down with a profound human being who is doing great work in the field of healthcare and birth. In this episode, I interview Dr. Nathan Riley MD, OB-GYN about how his experience as a physician in the western medical system led him to disillusionment, a spiritual awakening, and eventually to move beyond the traditional medical model to create a practice that is one of the most effective in the nation.

Nathan Riley, MD, is a board-certified OB-GYN and fellow of ACOG who left the medical industrial complex due to his disillusionment with the “standard of care” within the conventional maternity care model.

This was hard because “going with the flow” of hospital-based practice was providing him financial security. On the other hand, standing in his truth from having sat with over 1000 births and connecting with women and their families has provided him a lifestyle more in alignment with fatherhood, deepening his connection with his wife, and caring for people in the way that he had anticipated long before stepping into practice.

Dr. Riley now focuses his time on upholding the traditional practice of midwifery. He supports midwives as a collaborative physician for midwives of all varieties in over twenty states. He is an advocate for home birth and still attends births for those in need. He boasts a c-section rate of <5%, which is one of the best in the U.S.

This conversation covers some fascinating perspectives and I'm sure some thought provoking paradigms will be revealed to you in this episode.

This is a short one minute snippet of our conversation HERE.

Ep. 183: Returning To Eden- A Conversation With Best Selling Author Heather Hamilton

If I'm being honest, although I am an author, I am not someone who typically likes to read books. I almost never seek out books, and would rather do many other things in my down time than read. With that said, some books have a way of finding me. When they do, they usually find me because of frequency.

A book recently came into my awareness called 'Returning To Eden' by Heather Hamilton. As soon as I began to interact with the book, I realized that the frequency of this book is refreshing, and one that I deeply resonate with in many ways.

If you identify as a Christian, especially as an evangelical Christian, let me gently encourage you to consider listening to this episode of The Love Cast with Jamal podcast as I interview Heather Hamilton about her new book Returning To Eden. Let me also encourage you to get a copy of her book Returning To Eden

No, not because you will agree with everything in this podcast interview, (or her book), but because it may cause you to consider a perspective that your current sources of information have not been able to present you with. Growth is important for us all, and it takes conscious effort to remain open-minded and to not fall into a closed echo chamber. This is a typical challenge in belief systems of all kinds.

On the other hand, if you have been deeply damaged by the Christian religion and find anything resembling your previous faith to be distaseful or triggering, let me also gently encourage you to listen to this episode of The Love Cast with Jamal podcast, and also to consider reading Returning to Eden. You may find it to be restoritive in ways you may not have thought possible.

Ep. 182: Why Busyness & Multi-tasking Leads To Unproductivity. A New Conversation with Aly Sousa

In this episode of The Love Cast with Jamal, Aly Sousa joins me on the show once again to reveal and discuss another paradigm that keeps many of us stuck and unproductive in life. Ironically, a major tendency that works against our productivity in life is the compulisve drive to get ahead and accomplish tasks. This drive leads many of us to compuslive busyness and multi-tasking.

For many of us, if we are not busy doing many different things, we may feel unproductive and lazy, leading to guilt, shame, and addictive patterns of escape. For others, the feeling of unproductivity may motivate us to work harder and do more things. Either way, this pattern is a major drain of our life force energy which leads to an unproductive life.

Let me encourage you to give this conversation an important listen.

Amy’s story is the very embodiment of the main message in my book ‘Living for a Living’. You won’t feel fulfilled if you’re just existing to pay the bills. We need to shift our focus beyond simply surviving, to discovering the ‘Why’ of our very existence. Amy’s story is truly miraculous and she is an example for all of us on how knowing our deepest ‘Why’ in life can lead to a fulfilling career of service to others.
