Determine What You Really Want... Solutions, or Sympathy?
If you desire sympathy, life will surround you with many people who will feel sorry for you. This is because you will unconsciously attract them into your life. These people will bring you temporary comfort, but it will not be enough for you because your focus will continually be focused upon the support that you feel is still lacking in your life. This will keep you perpetually frustrated.
People who seek sympathy will unconsciously perpetuate patterns (typically through actions of self sabotage) that garner more sympathy from others. This keeps them from moving into sustainable solutions.
People who seek sympathy in life become frustrated and angry with those who offer solutions because they feel those who offer solutions are unsympathetic. It's a vicious cycle.
It can be helpful to ask yourself what you truly want. Do you simply want people to affirm your suffering? If so, it can be best if you are honest with yourself about that. This will prevent you from asking for assistance from others, then becoming upset with those who may offer assistance or possible solutions.
Today, may we seek to cultivate a life of solutions for ourselves and others, so that we do not have to settle for a life that can only garner sympathy.
